Spiral steel silo manufacturing technology is the most advanced technology for steel silo in the world. It produce steel silo by a special kind of seam lock, not by welding or assembling.
Our SM40 machine is similar to Germany Lipp machine.

I Spiral seam forming principle:
This machine rolls form 495mm wide, 2mm-4mm thick steel into 365mm wide strips, and spiral seam lock them together into round silo. The swage is about 30-40mm wide outside of the silo to reinforce the silo.
II Characteristics of spiral steel silo
  • Good integral performance, long life
By this SM40 machine, a spiral swage which is about 30-40mm wide, FIVE times thicker than the original steel coil, is formed outside of the silo. This swage greatly increases the bearing capacity of silo. The integral strength, stability and shock resistance of this kind of steel silo are much better than other kind.
  • Good air tightness, wide usage
This kind of swage insure good quality in each point of the silo from technology. Its air tightness performance is extremely good. If the silo is for storing grain, it can satisfy the requirement for suffocating and killing insects. By changing special raw materials, it can storing other solid and liquid materials. So this kind of steel silo is widely used in chemical industry, grain and brewing industry, civil, sewage refine, and other agriculture field, etc.
  • Short construction duration, low construction cost
SM40 machine can work on site. The silo roof is mounted on the ground. There don't need any scaffolds and other auxiliary equipments. The production speed of the machine can reach 5m/min (linear speed). So the construction duration is very short.
The weight of steel silo is only equaled to the weight of reinforcement bar used in the reinforcement concrete silo with same volume. And so the construction cost is very low.
By using dual-layer working method, the machine can produce silo with dual-material which is usually in chemical and environmental industries for storing strong corrosive materials. Thus the cost of such silo drops too much also.
  • Small occupation, easy for management
Height and diameter of Lipp steel silos can be chosen freely. Minimum distance between two silos can be 50mm.
By equipping with automation device, temperature-measuring and material-level devices, it is very easy to manage those silos.

3.4 Supporting frames and columns:
Usage: for fixing the exact diameter of the silo, bearing upright the silo raised spirally.
Quantity: 15 sets for silo diameter less than 5m. When diameter more than 5m, extra columns and frames are needed, for example, when edge length increased 1.7m, there need one sets.
Weight: 150kg per set.
